It was a great adventure. Steve and Sib invited Gretchen and me to be guests at DFDF in 2019 (for which we are very grateful) and we touched ground in three countries that we had never visited before, never leaving the airport in two of them, although it seemed like we walked far enough in the airports to reach Germany on foot.

Germany was wonderful! We had a fine time, saw a great many folks who we seldom get to see on our side of the pond, and gave two concerts, only slightly affected by the trans-Atlantic lurgy. And Steve was good enough to loan me his Taylor guitar. Yay!

Since Steve had recorded the concerts, he suggested that we could put together an album. This wasn’t a bad idea, but I am a terrible judge of my own live performances, so Steve ended up doing the mixing for these recordings, while I did the mastering.

The recording of “Apology” that’s here is not from Germany due to a glitch of the record button. Instead, it was contributed by Mark Peters (Thanks, Mark!), who recorded it at OVFF in 2013 with Judi Miller signing, that signing explaining the extended pauses for laughs. It must have been a cauldron full of french fries.

We also need to thank Gretchen’s brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Carol Duntemann, who watched the kids while we were  more
