Description

“Marzipan: Stories with Music” is Rick Davis’s second CD, Finn Bille’s first CD, and their first CD together.

Finn and Rick first began working together in the Fall of 2008 on one story.  Several other storytellers, poets and musicians joined them in a standing-room-only performance of collaborative works, Collaborations in Storytelling, Poetry and Music, that took place in Chattanooga in March 2009.  When Finn decided to record his first storytelling CD, he wanted to put a performance of his and Rick’s collaboration on it.  During their discussions, that storytelling CD project with one story with music on it eventually became this joint CD – “Marzipan: Stories with Music”.

Two of the stories come from Finn’s childhood in Denmark, and tell of sibling rivalry and of his quest as a 5-year old with his mother to secure a sweet Christmas tradition.  The third story is a whimsical glimpse into Finn’s life as a poet.

The music on the CD is inspired by Finn’s stories, and is made up of traditional Danish tunes, a familiar Christmas tune, and music composed by Rick.  It is all performed by him on hammered dulcimer.

CD digipak case still has original seal stick on it and has never been opened.
