Liz Madden’s Legacy is a brilliantly unique album featuring Gaelic chants mixed with English vocals. The album was recorded and produced with Fionán de Barra and features performances from Joanie Madden and Eamonn de Barra.

Liz recorded and produced Legacy with Fionán de Barra, a member of RUNA who also tours with Clannad. Fionán has recorded and performed with Moya Brennan, Eileen Ivers, Francis Black, Catriona McKay and many others. Legacy features Joanie Madden and Eamonn de Barra of Slide. The track list includes traditional Irish standards alongside compositions by American songwriters Shannon Worrell and Ward Harrison. The album is uniquely produced and mixed to include Gaelic chants with the English vocals.

Liz Madden is a classically trained singer/songwriter who comes from a family lineage steeped in Irish traditional music. Liz has had success with her solo CDs and as part of the Irish duo Rua and world music group Shishonnah. Her voice has also been heard in film (“Unborn but Forgotten”, “Lullaby”) as well as commercials. She currently lives in the U.S. and tours worldwide: Festival Interceltique de Lorient (France), the Lisdoonvarna Festival (Ireland), the 7th Folk and Art Festival (China) and various music festivals globally including the World Music Festival of Israel.

Southern Fried Filk Charity Effort

Filker and actor Michael Liebmann passed away on July 26, 2016, due to complications from surgery. He was a native New Yorker who had lived in New York, in California and finally in Atlanta, Georgia. He was a graduate of California State University with a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Business Administration (Accounting suboption). He worked as a legal secretary. He was also a veteran, having served in the United States Navy from 1979 to 1984.

Additionally, he was instrumental in starting GAFilk, a filking convention in the Atlanta area which has been going on since 1999, and he was known as a vendor of filk and Celtic music at local highland games and Celtic festivals.
