This third CD in Broceliande’s Songs of the Season series features music traditionally performed during or inspired by the season of Autumn and harvest. Barley Rigs offers a cornucopia of favorite material gathered from the folk and Early Music repertoires of Ireland, England, Scotland, France, and America, ranging in antiquity from the twelfth century to the twentieth. Barley Rigs features beautiful vocal arrangements ranging from solo vocals to 4-part singing, with rich instrumental backgrounds performed on Celtic harp, cello, guitar, bouzouki, tin whistle, flute, recorder, oboe, viola da gamba, melodeon, and percussion.
